The Marvelous Wonderettes

The Midvale Arts Council presents The Marvelous Wonderettes live on stage for 8 shows only July 13-21 (no show Sunday.) Join the Wonderettes on an epic journey down memory lane to Senior Prom 1958 at Springfield High School. At prom we meet the Wonderettes - Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy, four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts with voices to match. You can vote for the Prom Queen and learn about the lives and loves of these four energetic performers. We are treated to the girls performing beautifully arranged renditions of classic 50s songs. After intermission, we see how their friendships have changed and endured as we follow the girls to their ten-year high school reunion. The Wonderettes perform high-octane and soulful renditions of classic ‘60s tunes. Don’t buy a ticket – Buy two! It’s a show you’ll want to see twice!

The Marvelous Wonderettes is written by Roger Bean and features the talents of Melody Chapman as Cindy Lou, Kristen Fox as Missy, Paige Moore as Betty Jean, and Megan Smyth as Suzy. These Midvale residents and stage favorites shine under the production team of Stephanie Johnson, Karen Chatterton, Janzell Tutor, and Lindsay Beardall. Songs include “Mr. Sandman”, “Teacher’s Pet”, “Stupid Cupid”, “Son of a Preacher Man”, “Leader of the Pack”, “Respect” and 28 others beloved from the 50-60’s era.

The Marvelous Wonderettes perform at the Midvale Outdoor Stage in the Park 455 West 7500 South on July 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, & 21. 7:30 p.m. The Outdoor Stage has general admission grass seating; blankets or camp chairs are encouraged.
